Nine Network has the broadcasting right of this year's Commonwealth Games, Monday night, it crunched with Channel Seven's Desperate Housewives and Commander in Chief.

Nine's coverage were the number 1 during prime time, but Desperate Housewives scored the highest audience of any programme head-to-head against the Commonwealth Games. Commander In Chief retained 80% of its audience of last Monday – against the Commonwealth Games.

Surprisingly, Seven News and Seven's Today Tonight were both having higher rating than Nine Network News and A Current Affair.
