put ChrisI and credit issues to an end

Continued from the story so far...,
ChrisI got the credit?,
I am a hypocrite?,
me being stubborn?

This issue is also mentioned in mistake in's documentation (MozInfo701).

The story started with this thread ChrisI announced in the SillyDog701 Message Centre.

I noticed one of the statements claimed in Mozilla 1.7 RC1's Release Notes was not true. The questioning statement:

A new set of icons for files that are associated with Mozilla.

I verified it was not exist on Mac platform. However, ChrisI couldn't believe that. Believe it must be my fault. Seems to me, the's documentation is ChrisI's bible, cannot be doubted. Well, not my bible.

the problem:
Then, the most unbelievable bit is that ChrisI reported that to Bugzilla, and get himself a credit for it.

What's wrong with ChristI reporting it? It was a big mistake, of course. He was the one refuse to recognise the mistake in's documentation. I am the one dare to question the documentation. He got his name listed. To people outside SillyDog701, no one knows the real story.

(more follows)

Detail and the argument can be found at this Mozilla 1.7 RC 1 Released thread.

what's new?
In Mozilla 1.4.2 released thread,
I mentioned I've noticed a fundamental mistake in Mozilla's user interface. I said I won't report it yet in order not to repeat the same mistake, letting ChrisI took the credit. I explained to Wellander what exactly the credit issue is.

Also, in Mozilla 1.7 RC 2 Released thread, Andrew T mentioned that the release notes has A new set of icons for files that are associated with Mozilla on Windows.

Which I believe I am the one should be thanked.

ChrisI said that's just my issue. He said he received nothing, he did not take any credit. I have a rather nice response to him. Please take a look of my nice response.

I particularly like the part he said:

You're wasting everyone's time and bandwidth, with your issues. This is supposed to be a user support forum.

I replied,

SillyDog701 Message Centre is a very friendly community centre and a very good user support forum. This is definitely not a place for April Fool's jokes.

I had an online chat with Andrew T today. I told him I like above bit very much.
Andrew said, I rather like it myself; you fluently defended yourself on all accounts. By now I am rather eager to put this issue to a rest, however.

Yes, it's time to end this credit issue. And this blog entry will serve a summary of the story. My version, of course. If you want his side of the story, ask ChrisI.
