26 April, 2004

me being stubborn?

The background:
ChrisI posted Mozilla 1.7 Release Candidate 1 Released announcement in SillyDog701 Message Centre. I questioned the documentation, Release Notes, simply I noticed it was not true, or not accurate I shall say.

Detail:
I noticed the documentation says,

A new set of icons for files that are associated with Mozilla.
It was not the case for Mac.
On that day (22nd April), I suspected it was just not for Mac, but I was not really sure, and I did not have much time to verify that. So I posted my slightly doubtful on the thread. ChrisI was not happy about that.

He tried to teach me to how to resolve the problem. However, I was pretty sure I can't get the claimed new icons working for Mac, because I've verified with Robert Accettura who writes Mozilla code and debugs the code on 23rd April, he was pretty sure that there was no new icon sets for Mac. In fact he offered to contact Asa to get the documentation fixed for me, but I told him not to because I haven't finished with ChrisI.

My point: There's not new icons for Mac platform. Mac platform is one of Mozilla.org's official supported platform. And the Release Notes said:

A new set of icons for files that are associated with Mozilla.

Please read it carefully, the documentation did not “exclude Mac OS X.”
So I stand correct.

And that was what people said I was stubborn. They said I was stubborn because I was arguing over the icons issue, and I should have pointed out not for Mac. They also said, I was stubborn because I was arguing with a stubborn guy.

ChrisI is a member of Mozilla Champion. So what?
He has to help Mozilla cover up the mess or incorrect information? And told me to locate the image icon files myself and to get it working in Mac. What an idiot.

Had ChrisI been nicer to me and less stubborn, I would have pointed out the fact no new icons for Macs and mentioned that Released Notes need to be clarified.

And, the arguing is still on ...

What Mozilla 1.7 RC1's Release Notes say:
