rain and Mardi Gras

It was pouring yesterday for almost all day, and I was there taking pictures of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade 2004. I stood there for 4 hours, did get into the front row but not a good view. Most of the photos were quite bad due to the rain and reflection of flash from plastic cover (raincoats).

And yes, I have Mardi Gras 2004 pictures up in my AntGallery701.

About the photos, this time, I use manual mode instead of AUTO or Night Mode. Because it was in the evening, and I have to use Flash, I did increase the output of flash, however, I couldn't use triple to help holding the camera, in other words, can't get the pictures brighter. Also too many reflections from police's raincoats and plastic covers from the crowds, those objects would be very bright. The condition was worse than Mardi Gras 2003, but I have deeper depth of field in the pictures this time (with obvious rain drops and reflective backgrounds.) Will try to take better pictures next time.
