twas all John Kerry's fault?

Okay, not really John Kerry, but it started with the US Presidential Election (2004) thread.
A while back, Josh posted a poll about US Presidential Election. Three days later, one of SillyDog701 member, Ryan, informed us John Kerry supports gay rights!
Nothing wrong with one candidate supporting gay rights. But another member, Dustin, freaked out. The thread soon became a gay rights debating thread. (It is now split into another thread.)

Dustin then started a new thread - Gay marriage, trying to get support. To get homophobia support, I have to add.

This may seem discrimative but, no offense, I don't like how gay rights are permitted, I don't like the sound of anyone being gay, It really disturbs me, I want other peoples input so that i know I am Not alone on this topic.

His friend Keith joined to help Dustin. The problem? They don't have any good points, they don't have any arguments to back their claims at all. They said "gay is just wrong" and wanting to ban all gays. There are actually quite a few good reasons (although I may not agree) why gays shouldn't have equal rights. But Dustin and Keith had nothing to say at all. The debate ended up Dustin had nothing to say but complaining people scared him, well, under attack.

Hatewa summed it up nicely,

Well, [Dustin], by now you must get it. You find yourself under attack, isolated and virtually alone. How does it feel to be backed up against the wall like that, looked down upon, and forced to defend your position, over and over, to strangers who don't agree with you or understand why you are like you are. Some of them even appear to hate you for what you are. Doesn't all that sound familiar?
We people scare you, yes, because if you make the slightest concession, publicly, or in your mind, that being gay might be normal and right for some people, you might turn to stone on the spot, develop a severe rash, or worst of all, catch the disease by association and become contaminated yourself.
So, you and Keith bond together as “Men”, “Manly Men”, dedicated to the core to defend heterosexuality against all them naked queers out there who are conspiring to jump on your bones at the first opportunity.
Okay, [Dustin], we know you’re not Gay. You and your friend Keith have convinced the world that you are 100 percent not Gay.
Hatewa
P.S. By the way, just to confound you more, I'm 65 and not Gay.

The original gay issues in US Presidential Election thread.

Ryan told us:

John Kerry.

Good man.

Supporter of gay rights and fighting to get our manufacturing jobs back from the 3rd world, and doesn't support Dubya's Texas shooting spree over in the middle east.

Dustin replied:

IF GOD WANTED PEOPLE TO BE GAY THEY WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ADAM AND EVE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ADAM AND STEVE.

I responsed,

Please do not type in all capital case.

This thread is not a "gay right" debate thread. There are people who were born gay. Also let me tell you, if there was a choice, most gays won't choose to get discriminated.
You are free to start a "gay right" or "gay marriage" or "abortion" debate threads.

Dustin soon started a Gay marriage thread. However the original thread still remain popular with the gay issues.

*sigh*

If God had created Adam and Steve, then - although the Garden of Eden would be beautifully tendered and maintained, the human race would have died out after around 70 years.

But let's never let informed logic get in the way of a religious rant, eh.

Marcus wrote:

"IF GOD WANTED PEOPLE TO BE GAY THEY WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ADAM AND EVE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ADAM AND STEVE"

If you believe in Adam and Eve you believe the World evolved from incest.

Dustin responded,

my religion is my choice not yours

Marcus replied,

Under the same argument by popular representation of the bible god created Adam, a white guy from the middle east, and eve from Adam to serve him. As you've made it clear that you believe Genesis in the literal sense then you must believe that anyone who's not white is an abomination.

See how logic can be skewed to satisfy an argument?

Dustin clearly had no points at all, and called to have the thread locked.

The threads:
Gay issues (from US presidential election thread)
Gay marriage
