Scientific WorkPlace lost my pictures

Well, I use one expensive typesetting programme for my work. It is considered very expensive because what I need is LaTeX feature, and if you are a Linux user and a science or engineering guy, you most likely be very familiar with LaTeX or any variation of TeX.

Scientific WorkPlace costs AUD 1450.00 for an academic license. It costs only around AUD 200 for a licensed copy of Microsoft Office XP (university license).

I use Scientific WorkPlace version 4.1 . It is a very easy-to-use LaTeX typesetting (and mathematic computation) programme under Windows. When compared to Microsoft Word, Scientific does all the real engineer needs, however Microsoft Word has must better user interface, and lots more controls.

So what was the problem, when I opened my document today, there are lots of inserted picture missing. How? I don't know. Apparently Scientific stores every inserted pictures/images in a separate file, and link to them. Just when I open them today, all those files disappeared. I did not delete them. They were there yesterday. Don't ask me why.

I am not considering if I shall shift back to Microsoft Word.
